Come prepared for being outside in sun, wind, or changing conditions for about 3 hours. BSP will supply optics equipment for close up viewing of wildlife for those without, but if you have binoculars please bring them along! We’ll meet at 9 am at the entrance to Natural Bridges along Delaware Ave. After exploring Natural Bridges on foot, we’ll continue our bike ride along the coast, visiting Neary Lagoon, and eventually ending at the San Lorenzo river mouth. Hummingbirds, ducks, raptors, and so much more!

SUNDAY, MAY 6

Cinco de Mayo Watsonville (11:30am-5:30pm): Food, music and community bike ride with Ecology Action, Bike Santa Cruz County, and Santa Cruz County Health Services Agency as part of the City of Watsonville’s Cinco de Mayo festival. The bike ride will consist of 2 parts – the first is appropriate for all skill levels and types of bikes. Both parts will involve music courtesy of Santa Cruz Bike Party! We’ll meet across from the Watsonville Buddhist Temple (423 Bridge Street) and start the ride with a casual 5 mile out-and-back ride on the Salsipuedes Creek levee path – a totally flat and paved path that winds through gorgeous farmland along the creek.  After the levee path, we’ll make our way by the Watsonville Plaza where Cinco de Mayo festivities will be in full swing.  For those interested in a slightly longer ride, we’ll then continue to Ramsay Park, and explore the upper section of Struve Slough’s bicycle and pedestrian path, and make our way back to the plaza. Part one of the ride is 5.5 miles. Part two is an additional ~4 miles. Need a tune-up? Stop by the Plaza before hand! Share our Facebook event and invite your friends!
