One of the most comprehensive educational resources for biking with family members comes from the SF Bike Coalition. Their Family Biking Guide provides a helpful manual for all stages of family biking—from biking while pregnant to biking with kids.

The Safe Routes to School National Partnership wants to empower you with relevant resources so you can succeed in your Safe Routes to School efforts – whether that is through implementing a program, letting your voice be heard as an advocate or pushing for policy change. The Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (SCCRTC) provides helpful online resources for cyclists including information on bike lockers, bike licensing, countywide and city bike maps, information on the 3 Feet for Safety Act and more.

One of the most extensive and useful online resources for safety tips and rules of the road comes from the San Francisco Bike Coalition. Check out their Rules of the Road website for tips on how to stay safe while biking.
SHARE THE ROAD WITH TRUCKS AND BUSES
Check out these safety tips that will help you stay alert and aware while biking on streets with heavy traffic from the Community Traffic Safety Coalition of Santa Cruz County and produced by Ecology Action.
BIKE HELMET SAFETY FOR KIDS
Safe Kids Worldwide offers safety tips and resources to keep your kids safe while riding their bikes including helmet fit guides in English and Spanish.
BIKE & PEDESTRIAN HAZARD REPORT
Notify the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission of obstacles or hazards that may inhibit bike or pedestrian travel by using their online Hazard Report. These reports are forwarded to the appropriate local jurisdiction for action.
HOW TO LOCK YOUR BIKE
Bike theft is a huge issue for Santa Cruz County as elsewhere. Proper locking is the first defense against bike theft. The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition has great information on recommended ways to lock your bike.
